A little slow on posting this one, but I couldn’t not post it. Thanks to Nick Brandreth for sending over the first 2012 edit of the Thrashbike crew getting awesome.

Team footjam

This is a wicked photo definitely worth a post of it’s own:

First days of 2012

Apologies for the slow updates recently, I’m currently away from the UK so not posting as rapidly as I should be, but that will all change again in February. For now check out this great video from the past few days by Sam Cullum, it’s real good & starts off with some nice bails too:

Vishneviy 2011

Pavel “Vishneviy” Alekhin has putting in the work for his sponsors as usual & has just put out this awesome 2011 round up. Featuring some huge dirt riding as well as park shredding at Woodward Beijing, as well as some street trickery.

Sponsors: Beddo, Dynamic-Style

Q: Introduce yourself. How is a day in the life of Aidan Horn?
A: Usually i wake up at 11, grab some breakfast then a shower, then text a few people to see if there riding, then head down to my local skatepark, have a sesh until its dark, then go home and either chill or go do something with one of my friends.

Q: What is it that first got you into riding?
A: My cousin I’d say, he rides and when i was a bit younger i used to idolise him because he had loads of cool bikes and i think that’s what lead me on to start riding.

Q: How long have you been riding?
A: Hard to say really, but i properly committed to it about 3 and a half years ago maybe?

Q: What do you most like to ride, (Park, Street or Dirt) and why?
A: Definitely park, just love riding ramps, i want to ride more dirt though.

Q: What is the riding scene like where you live? Anything you wish was different?
A: not too good, nobody round here seems motivated to ride apart than me and a few others. Yeah, i wish more people rode mtb, everyone seems to be quitting for bmx, and that we had some dj’s to ride which are good haha.

Q: Tell us something interesting or funny about yourself!
A: erm, i can make a dolphin noise! haha

Q: If you had to choose one place to live in the world, where would that be and why?
A: Canada, riding scene over there just seems insane, plus there is endless amounts of places to ride.

Q: I see you just returned from a trip to Germany with the Beddo team, how was that?
A: Most amazing time riding I’ve ever had. It was cool to just hang out with with a bunch of guys as motivated as i am and just have a good time and ride bikes, I’m told the video for the trip is in the making, so keep an eye out for that.

Q: What is it that you enjoy most about riding?
A: progression for me, i love learning new things. But also just i feel free on my bike, and I’m sure nearly every other rider in the world would agree with me.

Q: We have all seen you pull a triple barspin, will there ever be 4?
A: Haha, i don’t think so unfortunately, unless i hit the Megaramp, but who knows?. Although I’m wanting to learn 360 triple barspins this year.

Q: What kind of stuff do you get up to apart from riding?
A: Going out with my buddies because the night life here is pretty cool and just chilling with friends..

Q: What would you say are your biggest influences when riding?
A: Its hard to say, but when i think about it, i like seeing other people progressing and music always gets me stoked to ride and learn new things.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Other than what I’ve said, I’d like to travel to Woodward or Barcelona, and try to mix it up a little and ride more things. I want to get my fitness up too.

Q: Anything you want to add? Any shoutouts?
A: Not that i can think. yeah, The biggest shoutout to Marius Hoppensack from Beddo for hooking me up and inviting me over to Germany, Peter Fordham from Dynamic-Style for being a cool guy and advertising me, and finally to Josh Murley because he voluntarily fixes my bike for me, so thanks guys!

Q: Thanks for doing this. All the best from RideStreet!
A: No bother bro, its been cool, anytime.

Pipe carving

This is some seriously sweet riding by Black Market’s very own Carter Holland. Shot through the lens by Ian Hylands. Definitely worth a post of it’s own. Now where in the UK can we find something like this? Click the photos to go large:

Introducing – Greg

Over the next few days I will introduce to you the guys who are helping to bring back RideStreet to it’s former glory! Today we meet Greg:

Name: Greg Parry

Location: Telford, Midlands, UK

Bike Setup: http://www.ridestreet.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12271.0

Riding style:  Anything I can roll around on, I have a smallish trick list but I like having my tricks dialled, I ride dirt in the summer,  park and street all year round. I ride with a lot of BMXers so influence comes from them.

Favourite rider:
MTB Riders – Matt Macduff, Marcel Hunt and Michel Plonka
BMX Riders – Harry Main, Anton Mcguirk and all the riders I session with.

Places to ride:  Rampworx, Stoke plaza, our trails and Liverpool street.

Favourite tricks: Barspins, 360s, Footjam Whips and Backflips

Riding goals for 2012: Get back to the level I was at before I screwed up my leg, trick wise I wouldn’t mind getting 360 backflips dialled in, and I’d like to get front flips sent too.

Top people to ride with:
Wirral Lads always get me stoked to ride, seeing them kill it at every spot gets me pumped, all the riders from our trails, watching the younger riders progress makes me more pumped than riding myself most of the time.

Resistant Cycles 2012

Resistant Cycles is a small, French company who currently only sell one product, the 24” El Deuce frame. They were officially founded in 2009, but have been designing products from way back in 2005. This is what they have to say about themselves;

“Officially founded in 2009, we design parts for really much longer.
Since our first drawings dating from 2005 the project has matured a lot which allowed us to gain enough experience to provide sharp products to sophisticated and demanding riders. We create products with which we would ride: simple, strong, effective and always with a great quality. We don’t really care about trends, false taiwanese innovations, and even less about marketing concepts highlighted by many brands. We do things our way, giving the best of ourselves: this is the reason to be of Resistant Cycles co.”

However, they have recently posted up some new project ideas they have for 2012. They look very promising. Check them out below!

First up, its the ‘Mentor’ Fork. This is available in both 10mm and 20mm (+130g) axle options, has a 420mm axle to crown height and weighs in at a super light 1.1kg. It is heat treated after welding, triple butted and includes a 7075-T6 top bolt. The 20mm version is also peg compatible. Will be in black or chrome.

Secondly, we have their new ‘Navigator’ bar. The Navigator has a rise of 85mm (3.4”), 3 degrees upsweep, 10 degrees backsweep, and a width of 720mm (28.3”). This will also be in ED Black or Chrome.

Finally, we have the ‘MAXIMATOR!’. These have the same geometry as the Navigators, but have a huge rise of 104mm! (4.1”).

Check them out at their new site here.

To celebrate their new site opening, they are offering their frame for 390 Euros, with free shipping worldwide.
