Was thinking of having the fork lowers done in chrome too, might be a bit more effort to get done though.

Where was that from?
I've emailed Argos Racing about it, and sometime this week I'm going to go through the yellow pages for local ones.

a company called ashford chroming, in all fairness they do amazing work so it would obviously be a cracking job, im sure you could get it done much cheaper. they also probably over compensated for the amount of refurb work they would have to do on a bike frame as new as mine

I didn't think you could get chrome work done on older metal. I guess thats why it was 350!

just an idea about chroming, couldn't you get it vinyl wrapped, you know like what they do for chrome affect bugati veryrons and stuff. seen a few companies that do it. i guess could be possible to do on most stuff like a bike frame, and potentially cheeper than real chrome, and lighter.

the problem is lawrence, cars have big surfaces, they're not intricate like a bike frame, and the bits that are aren't chromed on cars generaly, doing the tubes wouldnt be a problem but getting the corners between tubes, the joins perfect would be realy hard to do. its a good idea, but im not sure how well it would work. It would be easily damaged, but unlike other surfaces once damaged the entire sheet that the damage was on would start to peel.
